It's already twenty twelve in England.
Do people still honor the tradition of letting the year in with a black and blond haired couple I wonder? I'd be interested to know where that tradition began-something to do with the balance of light and dark over the coming year perhaps.
Lani shall be the light to my dark when it strikes midnight. She always is.
What of the light and dark's of twenty eleven?
Publishing D3ad/Ends, the Momento Mori show at OMA, the ensuing press, good friendships old and new, securing representation by a proper art agent, finally getting my drivers license here, my sons visit, trips away with my wife, the site relaunch and the work-always the triumph of the work.
And the dark's...all the usual suspects, poor sales, unensuing press, the depressing appetite here for poor abstract contemporary, the insufferable little man I worked for trying to make ends meet for a few months...
Nevermore!
Frustrations aside, my focus is forward, the hungry canvases, the gallery walls-there's more to look toward than back in the coming months.
So onward and may it be a happy, healthy and prosperous 2012 to you all.
